Call for Documenters
Join The Guild as we celebrate spring and build something together!
We are looking for documentarians and photographers who are interested in perserving the history of Dill Ave. through photography. On May 11th at The WayBack Block Party, you will be assigned an event and area to focus on. Your photographs will be the beginning of The Guild’s story as they continue to develop 918 Dill Ave. and other projects on the block. You will be guided and trained by Photographer and Archivist Sierra King on ‘How to Document a neighborhood Event’ and then will return a month later to process your photographs by writing descriptions, updating metadata and leaving with a favorite print.

This is perfect for the neighborhood photographer who wants to learn more about the history of their community, make connections through photography and learning best practices about how to perserve your work with an organization.
ABOUT YOUR FACILITATOR:
Sierra King is a multidisciplinary artist, archivist and curator living and working in Atlanta,GA. Her practice of art and archiving act as a call and response to one another by utilizing her family collections of documents, ephemera and history to enter in conversations across the collective Black Memory. In all of her art making, archiving and curatorial endeavors, the community is her collaborator.
